Regulating the Future of Food: Innovamol’s Workshop at RFF and FPP 2024 in Amsterdam

The Future of Protein Production” (FPP) conference, taking place on October 23rd and 24th 2024 in Amsterdam, promises to be a landmark event for the alternative protein industry. As this sector continues to evolve, addressing global challenges related to sustainability, health, and food safety, the conference will bring together key stakeholders to explore the latest innovations and best practices in the field. Among the various sessions and discussions, one of the focal points will be the regulatory frameworks that are crucial for the safe and responsible development and adoption of alternative proteins. This aspect will be explored in a specialized track within the whole event, the “Regulating the Future of Food Conference” (RFF) organized by ATOVA, in which Innovamol has been specifically invited to participate. Innovamol’s invitation to lead a workshop at this conference is a recognition of our expertise in regulatory compliance and literature reviews, which are essential components of the food innovation process.

During the conference, our Director of Research, Dr. Alberto Del Rio, will host a workshop titled “EFSA-Compliant Literature Reviews: Challenges, Pitfalls, and Opportunities“. This session will focus on the critical aspects of conducting EFSA-compliant literature reviews, highlighting the rigorous European approach in comparison to the diverse strategies used elsewhere. The workshop will also explore how literature reviews can be a powerful tool beyond regulatory compliance, providing essential insights that drive marketing strategies, inform R&D innovation, and guide investors in making informed decisions when funding new ventures. The workshop is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience. It will begin with an initial presentation, followed by breakout discussions and real-time activities, where participants can dive deeper into specific aspects of EFSA regulations, the practicalities of literature review processes, and also the application of new AI tools to improve both the efficiency and accuracy.

For Innovamol, being invited to lead this workshop at the RFF is not just an honor, but also a great opportunity to contribute to the future of food production. Our work in literature searches and reviews perfectly reflects our commitment in supporting innovation in a way that is scientifically rigorous and fully compliant with regulatory standards. By sharing our expertise in this workshop, we aim to provide other industry professionals with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the complex regulatory landscape that regulates alternative proteins.

Meet us on October 23rd-24th 2024, at RAI Amsterdam! Our workshop is on the 24th from 14:00 to 15:30 in Room E103. We’re excited to see you there and dive into this important conversation about the future of food production!
