Have you ever considered the importance for a regulatory authority of being constantly updated on the most recent, relevant and actionable information within its remit?
Innovamol’s team has recently launched a new collaboration with the Engagement & External Relations (ENREL) Unit of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on an innovative project designed to enhance the monitoring and analysis of the food and feed safety ecosystem. This partnership marks a significant step in our mission to support not only regulatory authorities like EFSA but also companies, consultancy firms and other actors in gathering and analysing critical data to inform decision-making and external engagement activities.
Due to the constantly growing volume of information and intelligence or knowledge available in the food/feed safety ecosystem, the task of finding, compiling, and analysing this amount of data becomes increasingly challenging. Therefore, staying updated daily on any development within the ecosystem is fundamental and should be an integral part of many organizations like EFSA as a proactive approach to external engagement. In fact, being vigilant about worldwide developments and issues allows organizations to anticipate threats that might arise, interact with different stakeholders in an efficient manner, and make prompt, well-informed decisions that could impact regulatory, R&D, strategic or even marketing departments of organizations. In this direction, a wide range of actors, including in Europe, Member States and EU institutions and, outside Europe, agencies, international organisations, food-chain stakeholders, consumer organisations, NGOs, and academic institutions, should be part of the ecosystem.
Our role in this EFSA project is to deliver daily updates of relevant, actionable monitoring information from the food/feed safety ecosystem that supports the proactive design of both engagement and external relations activities. By providing processed (selected, concise, and accessible) and pertinent information, our team will actively support EFSA’s ongoing activities, including “sentiment analysis,” identifying emerging trends that could influence regulatory decisions, and monitoring “who is saying what,” to provide early warnings on potential risks and opportunities. This will help EFSA stay abreast of developments and respond swiftly and effectively. In addition, we will also conduct in-depth analyses on demand, condensing and summarising significant scientific and policy discussions regarding specific topics.
Our goal in providing these services is to support EFSA in better navigating the complex world of food and feed safety. Our proactive data gathering, information management and analysis strategy will ensure the successful handling of critical information, promoting appropriate guidelines and policies to protect public health.
